Absentee Voting

One of the following has to apply to vote an absentee ballot:

  • Absent on Election Day from the jurisdiction in which you are registered.
  • Incapacity or confinement due to sickness or disability*
  • Religious belief or practice.
  • Employment as an election authority or by an election authority at a location other than your polling place.
  • If in the military, you may request an absentee ballot from the commanding officer or by contacting the Election Authority**
  • If you are hospitalized, within our county after 5:00 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to an election, you may request an absentee ballot. A bipartisan team of election judges will be sent to your hospital.

Vote an absentee ballot in person
You may vote an absentee ballot at the Election Authority’s Office.  Such voting begins approximately 6 weeks before an election and continues until 5:00 p.m. the day before the election.

Absentee ballot for a family member
A family member within the 2nd degree may apply for the ballot in person to be mailed to the family member.
